Thought for the Week: Jigsaws

I enjoy doing jigsaws, in fact I am addicted to completing them! Staying up into the early hours of the morning to put ‘just one more piece in.....’ Towards the end of the puzzle, I always have the same thoughts. There are not enough pieces. This piece must come from a different puzzle. None of the remaining pieces fit the holes that are left. The new laser cut wooden jigsaws are even more complex in the intricate patterns of the pieces. Then amazingly, it is finished and complete! The picture is displayed in its entirety. I can see things that I didn’t understand before.

As a Christian, I believe that God has a plan for my life. I won’t see how all the pieces fit together until it is over. Sometimes looking back, I can see how God has had His hand on me and the choices that I made. The outcomes are not always the things that I would have chosen! Those pieces which appear to be from a different picture! However, I can always be sure that He is guiding and leading me in the way that I should go. The Bible says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."  Jeremiah 29:11
