Faith in Action...A Conversation with Nish Joshi-Bhatt

Faith in Action...A Conversation with Nish Joshi-Bhatt 14 people attended our session where Kawther spoke to Nishi about how she uses her Hindu faith in her everyday life. Nishi said Hinduism is made up of lots of festivals, however the festival which empowers women is her favourite. Nishi was raised in a Hindu household and both her parents are Hindu's. Hinduism is a way of life and not just a religion. As she got older, Nishi has taken a more academic approach to her religion to understand it more, as it is a complex religion. Nishi feels that God is a divine universal energy and it connects everyone. Nishi starts her day with prayer and doesn't feel like her day has started until she has prayed. Nishi feels that sometimes it is hard to keep levels of faith and believe in a higher power when there is so much suffering in the world. So she immerses herself in nature, dance and music. The session ended with good questions from the participants which Nishi answered really well.
