WPoF's annual Interfaith Football Tournament took place on Saturday 22nd May at Winston Churchill School. There were two teams from Shah Jahan Mosque (A & B), a team from Emmaus Road/Lighthouse, the Eagles, Welcome Church and a team from Big Leaf Foundation. The aim of the the tournament is to promote community, religious harmony and mutual understanding which was displayed both on and off the field. Team A from the Shah Jahan Mosque won the cup against Emmaus Road and the Eagles won the plate against the Welcome Church. Prizes were presented by the Mayor of Woking, Councillor Liam Lyons and each player received a medal. It was a day mixed with rain and sunshine and everyone left with a greater sense of community spirit and sportsmanship.
