Warm conversations at the Ladies Interfaith Coffee Morning

Woking People of Faith recently brought women together for a relaxed and welcoming Ladies Interfaith Coffee Morning at The Lighthouse, Woking, supported by Surrey Minority Ethnic Forum. The morning created a lovely opportunity for women of different faiths and backgrounds to meet, connect and enjoy time together in a warm and friendly setting.

A highlight of the event was hearing from Lucy Greenland, Centre Manager, who spoke about the wide range of support and community services provided through The Lighthouse in Woking. The Lighthouse describes its centres as vibrant community hubs that support, encourage and empower people in need, and its work is part of a wider range of projects that include help with the cost of living, wellbeing support, food provision and other practical community services. Lucy also spoke about The Lighthouse values, which help shape its work and its welcome. These values include compassion, love for all, community, freedom, respect, courage, honesty, authenticity, generosity, truth, dignity, peace, hospitality, acceptance, integrity, wholeness, kindness, belief and hope, with a strong emphasis on being a place to belong.

After the talk, everyone had the chance to speak informally, get to know one another better, and continue the conversations over a hot drink. Guests also enjoyed cakes together, adding to the relaxed atmosphere and helping new connections to grow naturally. It was a simple but meaningful morning that reflected the spirit of friendship, welcome and understanding at the heart of interfaith work.
