On Sunday 21st September, Woking People of Faith joined hands with the Almac Bisley Brass Band to mark the International Day of Peace at Woking Park. This simple yet powerful act carried real impact. It was a public witness for peace, reminding all present of the importance of unity and mutual respect. The event drew in a diverse audience, including many who had not previously engaged with the forum, broadening connections across the community.

At a time when fear and division have been stirred by anti-immigration protests, the gathering offered a sense of reassurance and solidarity, particularly for minority communities. Most importantly, it strengthened cohesion, showing how people of different faiths and backgrounds can stand side by side for peace.

The day was a reminder that small, visible acts of togetherness matter deeply. By coming together in public spaces, we affirm that peace, respect, and community are values we all share.
